I feel we often push forward notions of humanity that highlight black people or any people against the backdrop of carefully
aestheticized settings. Settings that typically ride the cultural pastiche of triumphant awareness set to androgynous lighting
and ornamental plant matter. The recordings on "Erasure Poetry" were arranged with consideration for the forgotten individuals
among us. The street dwellers, prisoners behind bars, those in rehab centers, and others who feel shuffled in the search for spiritual healing.
This backdrop reveals prisons, industrial zones, suffocating cities, and isolating communities who have been bound by the spell of persistent power. Most of these recordings were conceived between 2015-2018.
